Dataset is the parallel processing stage which is used for staging the data when we design dependent jobs.

By Default dataset is parallel processing stage

Dataset will be stored in the binary format.

If we use dataset for the jobs, data will be stored in the DataStage . Thats is inside the repository.

Dataset will over come the limitations of the sequential file.

Limitations of sequential files are

1) Memory limitations ( It can store up to 2 GB Memory in the file format )

2) Sequential ( By default it is Sequential file )

3) Conversion Problem ( Every time when we run the job, it has to conver from one format to another format)

4) Stores the data outside the Datastage ( Where in Dataset it stores the data inside the Datastage)

Importance of Logical Operators in Oracle :

Logical Operators are the conditions used to combines the result of two component conditions to produce a
single result. Logical Operators will be used to differentiate the rows or columns according to your requirement.
There are three types of logical operators.
1) And Operator
2) Or Operator
3) Not Operator

In Real Time Projects we use first two oprators 90 % of the time.
Try to Practice with many examples by using these operators.

'And' Operator:
We use And Operator for writing sql Statements based on two or more conditions being met.
You can use the And operator based on Truth table given below.

Truth Table:

Example:

Select Ename, Sal, Job, Emp Where ( Sal>2000 And Sal<=4000) And Job='CLERK'; In the above example, try to analyze the statement. We have used parenthesis in the above statement. Because inorder to execute in the parenthesis first.And then outer condition will be executed. If you dont give parenthesis, the statement will be wrong. Or Operator: IT will be TRUE if either component conditions is TRUE. It will be FALSE if both are FALSE, else return unknown. Try to understand by seeing from the following truth Table. Truth Table: TRUE TRUE TRUE TRUE FALSE TRUE FALSE FALSE FALSE FALSE TRUE TRUE Example: Select Empno, Ename, Sal, Deptno, From Emp Where Sal>=2500 OR Deptno=30;
